Chipped front teeth, what can I do about it?
I've never had a problem with my teeth such as needing fillings etc, but they have gotten quite thin (bad for being 16...). My front teeth both have little chips in them; one has 2 chips, one right in the corner and another across the bottom. The second tooth has had the same, but I've found that I've chipped more off today...If you look at it closely it's pretty visible.
Being 16, what can I do about this? I haven't got half a tooth missing or anything, but I don't fancy that happening any time soon. If the dentist can do anything, what exactly would they do? All I've found is veneers but I don't think that's what I'd be needing..
Sorry, but the other two answers are wrong. No toothpaste will rebuild the enamel that is lost to chips or fractures and there is nothing to coat your teeth to protect them or make them harder. (Fluoride maybe but only to prevent cavities not fracture and chipping) (Sealants are put in the grooves of teeth to help prevent cavities, but only in the grooves.) I do not advise to file down your teeth, either by yourself or your dentist. Because once the tooth structure is gone, it's gone. I would recommend bonding. Veneers would be overkill. The dentist just has to add a little bit of tooth colored material. Very easy and relatively inexpensive.
