Internet Article Marketing For Realtors - Create a Flood of Leads

So how can you position yourself as a leading authority in real estate and have masses of traffic flooding your website? "Internet article marketing". If you can write an email, you can do internet article marketing as a Realtor or agent. Don't worry if you don't actually "feel" like a leading authority; you have more expertise than you know. And don't be scared either; you don't need to be an English major to do this.

Internet article marketing is a fantastic way to demonstrate your expertise and convey the real estate information and knowledge that you posses. It can set you apart from the competition and place you on a pedestal as a "real estate expert" in the eyes of the consumer, which is what will ultimately bring in more cash for you.

Think about this...

"How many articles have you read on the web, in magazines and in newspapers that you've taken as the gospel truth?"

Probably quite a few. Heck, people take weight loss advice from "Dr. Phil" and he's not exactly looking like a personal trainer.

How many of these writers have the "credentials" we think they do in order to be an authority on the subject? Not as many as we think.

Unless you're writing in a medical journal, you don't need as many degrees as Fahrenheit to be an expert in a certain field. Don't sell yourself short. Experience far outweighs credentials in many cases, especially real estate.

Internet article marketing for Realtors and agents can go in a number of directions. You can write articles on a mountain of real estate issues, subjects, experiences, thoughts, predictions, etc. They don't all need to be statistical and analytical reports, although those are great too.

Your personal experiences, tips you have on various pitfalls to avoid when buying or a special report you write on "how to save $7,000 when selling" are all superb internet article marketing ideas to write about. People looking for your kind of info will eat it up.

The key to internet article marketing is to be informative, provide useful content and above all else (for the love of all things), let your personality shine through! You must show your personality in any and every way you can.

Yes, keep it professional but let people get to know you; the real you. That's what people crave and that's what's going to build the relationships that bring you more business. People love other "real" people; not fake people trying to be proper and insincere.

Of course, don't be a meat head and forget to throw in your website in the "about you" box so people know where to find out more about you. If prospects don't know how to find you, your internet article marketing campaign will be a total waste.

The art and science of writing articles is actually fairly simple and straight forward. The style I write them in is the same way I write my blog posts; conversationally. I like to be as real as possible so I write my articles and posts very similarly to how I speak in-person. Pay attention to the style of your writing and be intentional about it.

Another vital aspect of internet article marketing is the headline of the article itself, which needs to be "catchy" so it grabs the prospective reader's attention. Remember, people DO actually judge books by their cover (headline/title). Use words that convey and inspire the emotion you're trying to hit in your prospect.

Most internet article marketing submission sites will want you to write a summary paragraph, which gives the reader a snapshot at what your article is about. Make it intriguing and interesting. Many times, this is how the reader will decide whether they will read on or click off.

The article body is the meat and potatoes of your article. This is the content. This is where you give the reader what they want. Give them the solution to the problem they're having.

You don't want to "sell" at anytime in the article headline, summary or body. That'll come later. You want to keep the article body informative, concise, and helpful and put some personality into it. But never sell in your article.

The article "resource box" or "author bio" is where you can point people to your website and tell them what you do. This is where you can finally sell yourself. The "author bio" or "resource box" is about you and your services. A good way to think of this is that the article body is the "give" and the author bio is the "take".

Give them a quick background on you, what you do, what you offer and give them a reason to click on your website or blog link. Tell them they can sign up for some type of freebie offer. Entice them but don't be cheesy about it.

Now I know you're wondering, "How is just writing a stupid article going to get traffic to my website?" Well, once you have at least 1 article written, the fun begins! Now you need to post that puppy online anywhere and everywhere that your prospects might look.

Don't go too crazy though because Google might classify your article as spam if you're sending it to too many article submission sites. Pick 3-5 article submission sites that you like and stick with those. Just do a Google search for "article submission sites" and you'll see the daunting number of places to post your masterpiece.

These article submission sites are basically collections of articles on any topic you can possibly imagine; written by all types and personalities. Readers will either go directly to the article site to search for information on the topic they're looking for or they'll search on Google where they'll undoubtedly pull up results from articles posted on these sites.

Prospects searching for relevant information will see your article, hopefully read it through and then click on your website or blog link. That's the essence and goal of article marketing.

But just like any other marketing weapon, it's a numbers game. A certain number of people will see your headline and a percentage of those will read your article. A percentage of those people will then click on your link and some of those prospects will hopefully find out more about you and become clients.

The more articles you have out there, the more traffic you'll get and the more clients you'll end up working with. It's really a number game and you can increase those numbers with better headlines, better summaries, better article content and better author bio/resource boxes.

A great source for writing articles is your own blog. You can take blog posts you've written and turn them into full-blown articles. You may need to lengthen them or change some wording but you can turn them into articles to post on article submission sites.

Another idea would be to use Google's Keyword Tool and search for some relevant keywords that home buyers or sellers are searching with. You can then build an article around those topics and you'll be confident that the information is truly needed out there.

For example, with Google's Keyword Tool (free), you could type in "home buying tips". That may be a great topic by itself but Google will return a ton of keywords that are relevant to that phrase. Look through the list, use common sense and see which other keywords your ideal prospect might be searching with. Then you can expand and expound on that keyword and write a full article.

As for my favorite article submission sites, my top choice would be EzineArticles, by far. Another excellent place would be Squidoo.com (crazy company name, I know). Digg.com is another good one. GoArticles.com is great as well. There really is a ton out there so do some homework and try a few out.

You want to be sure the article submission site is getting enough traffic and you can check that at Alexa.com. If the site isn't getting much traffic, you're article is less likely to be seen. That probably goes without saying but it's very important.

By the way, if you're not much into writing a bunch of articles, if that's just not your "thing", there's a solution. Go to Elance.com and find a good freelance writer to write articles for you. You'll own them and can then distribute the articles as you would if you wrote them yourself.

Bottom line, it's all about content and information. If you can give it to your prospects in a way they'll enjoy, they'll reward you with business.
