A Clean desk Is A Happy desk
We spend much of our working lives at our office desks and yet they are often cluttered, abused and dirty.
It's time to Spring clean!
Empty drawers of rubbish, pens that no longer write, old coins etc
Clear filing cabinets, tambour cupboards and pedestals of old files and obsolete paperwork (where's that shredder?)
Old magazines, flyers and catalogues may be recycled
A good spray polish and duster will have your Office Desk sparkling and sweet smelling and will remove any coffee rings
Clean your computer:
Wipes are good for cleaning the screen etc. A damp cloth will efficiently remove dust and fluff from cabling (make sure appliance is switched off at the mains!) and CPU or similar
A can of compressed air is ideal for blowing out the detritus from under the keys on the keyboard, followed by a soft brush to remove dust etc
To remove finger oils and other dirt from the surface of the keys, make a diluted solution of standard liquid dishwashing detergent. Gently clean the key surfaces with a damp (not wet) lint-free cloth. Finish with a soft, a dry cloth.
Cleaning the Mouse
If you have an optical mouse (most modern PCs do), follow the manufacturer's directions for cleaning it. A wipe to the sensor is usually enough.
The rolling ball mouse collects more dirt and dust the longer you use it. It needs cleaning when the on-screen cursor movement becomes slow or less precise.
Remove the ring and the roller ball. Both may be cleaned with a cloth dampened with a mild detergent solution
The rollers inside the mouse case may be cleaned with cotton swabs and/or a soft toothbrush moistened with a detergent solution to loosen dirt etc
Ensure all components are dry before reassembling the mouse for use
