Knee surgery?
last october i had a "lateral release" surgery done on my knee, which is a procedure where they slice the tendon around the knee to release some of the preasure on the knee-cap. It was great all last winter, but its starting to get bad again, ive been taking pain meds and i dont want to keep resorting to that and end up with stomach or kindey problems later...ive been in and out of physical therapy for years, both before and after the surgery and it doesnt help. the doctor the preformed my surgery now has an office in SC and im in PA...what should i do??

Before considering knee replacement surgery, know that there are many simple causes of knee, hip and other joint pain that can be corrected without surgery, meds or physical therapy.
Modern medicine treats our bodies as if it were a Toyota Corolla- if something's giving you a problem just unbolt it (surgery) and put in a new part. Doctors and pharmaceutical companies have done a great job of convincing people that our bodies simply do not have the ability to heal themselves and that we need the intervention of surgeons and drugs to fix everything.
I highly recommend a book written by Pete Egoscue, entitled, "Pain Free, A Revolutionary Method for Stopping Chronic Pain". I've used his methods in my own practice with great success. The elimination of joint or muscle pain is usually so simple it borders on the laughable, but it makes sense because it is congruent with the way our bodies were designed to work. Read it! If you apply the techniques I'm confident you won't need surgery or meds and your pain will be a thing of the past.
