My 3 years old boy needs a special dental treatment ?

Hi's only 3 years old, he cant stay quiet on the dentist chair.
They said that Hi's going to need some medicine and laughing gas in order to stay quiet, and some "clothes" to tied his arms.
I want to ear some of you experience, what do you think? For me is to much for a few cavities.
Also the doctor said that I cant stay with him during the treatment.

Not allowed in the room with him? That's ridiculous! That is YOUR KID and you have every right to be with him everywhere short of an operating room. They should not be restraining him with clothes either. Find yourself a new dentist!
