What type of stirrups does your Dr use for pap smear?
The first time I had a pap smear I had to lie on a couch and the Dr pulled out footrests from the bottom of the couch. But this year I was at a different doctor and this time I had my legs raised higher, they were in loops hanging from poles at the end of the bed, the nurse clipped me up and took my legs down afterwards. She said these were lithotomy stirrups and were easier for the Dr. I preferred the first sort though. I just wondered which kind are normal?
There's no reason to use stirrups at all. Just raise your knees and put your feet flat on the table.
